hi, friends! <3
march has arrived. i can’t remember which day, but at some point last week, i woke up and noticed the sun had shifted. the morning felt new, and i felt more energized. i’m always looking forward to the first signs of spring; winter time is the worst.
i’m delighted to say that a few hundred of you have signed up for my newsletter. i honestly can’t believe it; every time i get an email saying “new subscriber to your friend, jen!” my heart explodes. i’m seriously so grateful for all of your support and love on this tiny project of mine.
thank you to the sweetest gal nicole tremaglio for the shoutout in laguna beach was real to me last week! i absolutely adore her newsletter (for anyone who’s obsessed with the 90s and 2000s aka me) and podcast, listen here: nicstalgia <3
the last two weeks have been busy busy busy! here’s a new favorite photo of my honey and i, taken by our sweet friend zach at 3 am (or 4?) at a diner in brooklyn after a concert. if you really know me, you know i obviously ordered a black and white shake. grateful for this silly photo of us <3
wedding planning has been, dare i say, fun? we’re still at the beginning stages, but things are really coming together. vendors i’m pretty sure we’ve found:
wedding planner! almost everyone we’ve talked to about this has said (warned us, if we’re being honest) to book a planner for the big day. after hearing about all of the things that could go wrong, we’ve decided to do it. a friend gave me a recommendation for an amazing planner based out of massachusetts. we had a call with her about two weeks ago, and knew she was the right fit for us. such an angel!
florist! i truly cannot wait to show you all who we’ve found. honestly a “fate” situation. a perfect fit. another angel on our wedding team.
venue! we have to tour it in the next few weeks to be totally sure, but it’s feeling promising. another weird moment of fate: a few months ago, i had saved a photo of a beautiful ceremony on pinterest, and added it to our boards. i don’t want to ruin the surprise here, so i won’t go into detail just yet, but it’s an idea for an outdoor ceremony. this venue that we’re hoping to lock in has almost the exact same option for our ceremony; i couldn’t believe my eyessss!
dress! this was the first thing i checked off my list…oops. i know it’s not a good idea to buy your wedding dress almost two years in advance, but it was a once in a lifetime moment. i couldn’t pass it up. i’m still searching for a vintage option for the rehearsal dinner, so if you know of any shops in person or online, i’m all ears! (thank you <3)
save the dates/invites! we quickly realized the reality of wedding pricing after i received a quote from one of my favorite artists who creates seriously stunning save the dates and invitations…a few thousand dollars for just save the dates blew my mind. believe me, i absolutely respect rates that artists create for their business (i say this with 10+ years of experience setting up my own rates for modeling jobs) but when you and your love are paying for your wedding, you may have to take another route. papier (not sponsored but let’s get real, i’d love this) has so many pretty options at a reasonable price. i ordered examples of save the dates, invites, order of service, and menus, for maybe $15? incredible.
alright let’s get into the fun stuff. a month ago, charli xcx’s boiler room set was announced. i was determined to be there. i’ve followed her career since i found out about her online (thank you tumblr) in 2010/2011. i saw her live at a kiss 108 concert (omg) in 2014 and even back then i was wondering why the crowd wasn’t absolutely freaking out over her. they just didn’t get it yet. we saw her live during her CRASH tour in april 2022 and it was one of the best shows i’ve ever seen. i’m pretty sure i cried with happiness seeing her live during this era. fucking iconic to say the least. babies where you at?
as fate would have it, we ended up on her vip list for the boiler room. another thing i’m so grateful for. thank you to the heavens above.
charli’s entrance was everything. walking through the crowd with bright lights on her and a camera following her (i can’t wait to see what she does with the footage), making her way to the booth. a true superstar moment; the energy she’s deserved all along. sets from doss, easyfun, a.g. cook, george daniel; sweetie addison rae popped up out of nowhere and the crowd went wild. julia fox premiered her debut song for us all. we made our way to the after party at around midnight in the rain. i don’t have any photos from the rest of the night; we were busy dancing to kesha and katy perry. (george daniel and harrison ate)
yes, we met charli in person and my dreams came true <3
thank you so much, friends, for reading. i appreciate your love and support. :)
sincerely,
your friend, jen
